OVERVIEW: The Tp 613 is a heavyweight, wire-guided anti-ship torpedo developed by Sweden and introduced in 1984 for surface-launch platforms. It provides high-speed, guided engagement capabilities against maritime targets.

DETAILS: “Tp” stands for Torped in Swedish designation, and “613” identifies the enhanced model in the Tp 61-produced series. Manufactured by FFV (later Saab), it retains a 533 mm diameter and is powered by an HTP‑ethanol piston engine allowing speeds over 60 kn and wakeless exhaust. At approximately 7 m in length and weighing up to 1 860 kg, it carries a 300 kg warhead with both proximity and contact fuzes. The system employs two-way wire guidance allowing mid-course updates and uses acoustic and wake-homing in the terminal phase to accurately terminate against surface vessels.

TYPE: Heavyweight Wire-Guided Anti-Ship Torpedo (Surface-Launched Variant)

FUNCTION: Launched from 533 mm torpedo tubes aboard surface vessels, the Tp 613 is wire-guided to adjust its path during mid-course. In the terminal phase, it transitions to acoustic and wake-homing to precisely strike fast-moving ships at high speed.
